Grand Imperial, Silverton CO WiFi speeds

The Grand Imperial has traditionally been a lovely hotel in Silverton CO. The hotel’s antique charm and vintage rooms were the main draws: Now, however, their wifi speeds are also quite attractive: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/5433605188 The connection has also been rock solid over the course of a two day stay. No disconnects and consistent speeds of 5Mb/s-6Mb/ This compares very favorably to a few years ago when most WiFi in Silverton was quite slow and spotty! It also beats AT&T 4G service in Silverton which currently maxes

Crossroads Inn and Suites, Salem MO WiFi review [EXCELLENT]

I regularly stay throughout Missouri for business. I normally test the speeds at every hotel I stay in. Recently I stayed at the Crossroads Inn and Suites in Salem MO. I have stayed there before, but they recently upgraded their internet so I wanted to run speed tests again. Here are the speedtest results: ~60.0Mbps D/L* ~12Mbps U/L* *average of multiple tests throughout stay.  These are some of the best speeds I have encountered. New Exede Speedboost plans + wifi [review & prices]

Plus I absolutely

Wifi bridge from old house to new house

Recently I setup a wifi bridge between our old house and our new house. This setup is surprisingly difficult since there is considerable foliage in between the two houses. Also, once the signal gets to the new house I wanted to rebroadcast it so we had nice full home coverage. Thankfully, TP-Link has some very nice (and inexpensive) wireless access point/bridges available. Two of them made quick work of the problem and now we are enjoying our old internet at

Fidelity Communications internet and phone service down

The internet and phone service was down in Salem MO this morning for customers of Fidelity Communications. It was quite perplexing at first, because I was working on a wireless upgrade at the Crossroads Inn & Suites hotel in Salem. During the middle of the upgrade, internet connectivity was lost. Eventually we determined that it was not our system’s issue but rather Fidelity’s. After contacting them we learned that a router went down in Kansas City and that caused widespread
