Google Fiber: excellent in theory, disappointing in practice?

My friend Ronnie lives in Overland Park and as such I have been keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that he will get Google Fiber ASAP. Unfortunately, that has not been happening. Google has still not announced availability for Overland Park and beyond that they are not rolling out very fast to the areas they have announced. 🙁 Ronnie can tell you better than I can, so here is what he had to say: Hey JD.. Google Fiber.. They keep

What is O2Micro OZ776 SCR Driver? [answered]

Q. On my laptop I have a program listed in my add/remove programs page as O2Micro OZ776 SCR Driver, do you know what this is? Is it a virus? Should I uninstall it? A. Add torrent/magnet links directly from Chrome to uTorrent

So far I have not had any luck using this Chrome extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/remote-torrent-adder/oabphaconndgibllomdcjbfdghcmenci?hl=en 🙁 So the quest will continue and hopefully I will soon have success to report! 🙂

New satellite internet review site

My Exede review is one of the most commented articles on my site (177 comments and counting). However, having that many comments on one page (or paginated) can be quite cumbersome for someone simply looking for an organized set of reviews  (Exede or otherwise). Therefore, here is the link to a satellite internet review and complaint site, which has a dedicated section for Exede as well as most other satellite ISPs. NTFS or exFAT for removable media (SD/SDXC or USB)

UPDATE: my exFAT formatted 128GB SD card has been working wonderfully, I am happy with my choice of file system formats 🙂 exFAT has been mentioned previously on this blog, but for the first time I truly needed to decide: exFAT or NTFS for my new 128GB SD card… In the end, I chose exFAT for both speed and compatibility. My primary OSes are Windows and Android, both of which support read/write of exFAT. Android not so much with NTFS (at least
