Download Windows drivers for Western Digital USB 3.0 PCI Express card
Question. From Storage Nut:
Hello, I have a new desktop PC and I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate on it. My next step was to add a snazzy new Western Digital PCIe (PCI-Express) USB 3.0 card. I can’t find the driver disk and, unfortunately, Win7 x64 can’t seem to find the driver nor can stinkin’ Windows Update?! I checked the western digital site too and struck out, I don’t think it is even listed?!
So you’re my last best hope, to repeat: after running Windows update I still have ONE unknown device in device manager even though I know what it is 🙁 PS as stated, I am running x64 Windows.
Answer. Here is where to download the drivers for the WD USB 3.0 PCIe add on card:

(this is a local mirror of the install CD drivers, since they do not appear to be available anywhere online…)
You should be good to go since you are running 64 bit Windows 7. The install/setup utility will select the correct version. It also has drivers for XP/Vista/Windows 7 both 32 bit and 64 bit…
Hope this helps!

Thanks a bunch! Hard to believe WD doesn’t support their product enough to keep a driver posted up somewhere.
Hi Chris,
Thank you for your nice comment. I am very glad the WD driver was helpful to you!
Have a great week 🙂

I also wanted to thank you for having the drivers for the USB 3.0 card available. I was re-installing a bunch of software, but could not find the drivers for the USB card from Western Digital. I agree with the other commenter that it is weird for WD not to have it available. My system is whole again!
Hi John,
Thank you for your kind comment. I am very glad that the Western Digital driver was useful to you 🙂
Have a great weekend!

PS what types of USB 3.0 devices are you using? For me, I have a couple USB 3.0 hard drives that I really like and a gigabit Ethernet adapter that comes in pretty handy too 🙂
I know this is 5 years late, but THANK YOU
As WD no longer supports/even offers a driver for this card anymore for Win 7×64 and Microsoft Update will not update this card. (Compliance for transition to Windows 10 as Windows 7 road-map is depreciated.
