Disable Android lock screen, ‘None’ option missing?! [SOLVED]

I had a lock screen that just would not be disabled on my LG G.Pad 8.3 tablet 🙁

Turns out it was because multiple users were enabled on my tablet. Deleting the extra users and just going back to my primary user allowed me to set the Lock Screen to ‘None’. Woot! 🙂

  • have not ‘none’ option in my device, so how to lock screen disable

    • Hi Chittaranjan,
Have you checked your settings and made sure there is only one user setup on the device? Removing extra/unused users from my tablet re-enabled the “non” option on my lock screen settings. I hope this helps!

      Best regards,
      -J.D.

Remove Guest account in Administration options.

This problem was present on my new, out of the box LG GPad X 8.0. Marshmallow 6.1 Nothing seemed to work including deleting the only other user (Guest), which wouldn’t delete. Finally, I did a factory hard reset and that restored the None choice on screen lock.
    Steps following:

Master reset with hardware keys for LG GPad X 8.0 (LG V521)
A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloads, ringtones, images, apps, contacts, and Visual Voicemail. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys.

Back up data on the internal memory.
    Turn off the device.
Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons.
When the LG logo appears, quickly release and then re-hold the Power button while continuing to hold the Volume down button.
    ‘Factory data reset’ appears.
Use the Volume down button to highlight Yes.
Press the Power button to confirm.
Erase all user data and restore default settings’ appears.
Use the Volume down button to highlight Yes.
Press the Power button to reset the device.

My phone is not having a lock screen at all, I can’t lock my phone, I have set security passwords and it’s still the same

    • J.D.

Hey Holabode, if your phone has no lock screen at all and won’t lock even after setting a security password, it could be that an MDM (mobile device management) profile or a device admin app is overriding the setting. Check Settings > Security > Device Administrators and see if anything unexpected is listed there. If not, a soft reset might clear whatever is blocking it.
