Hi Irene,
Thank you for your comment. I am sorry to hear that your E4310 has developed a keyboard issue!
If it has not already resolved itself, here are a few suggestions:
#1 try blowing some compressed air around the affected keys – I suggest this because sometimes dirt/dust/grime builds up and makes keys stop working… this happened on my Lenovo ThinkPad X220 and a bit of compressed air did the trick!
#2 you could try removing the individual key caps and checking out the mechanism under the keys for any issues (I would recommend googling this or looking for a youtube video on the topic, as I am not familiar enough with your keyboard to be specific in my instruction :-()
#3 replace the kayboard – if it is under warranty Dell should do this for you, if not then it is actually easier than it sounds!
Here are nice instructions from Dell: https://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/late4310/en/sm/TD_Keyboard.htm
and you can find replacement e4310 keyboards on Amazon and eBay (but with both I recommend carefully checking compatibility)
Good luck Irene and I hope your laptop keyboard is fixed soon!
