HP 23xi review (long term review w/reliablity & warranty info)

For the past two years we have been using a number of HP 23xi displays at home and the office. Overall these are some of my favorite monitors. Here are the pros: IPS Reasonable price (~$130 USD when on sale) Energy efficient External power supply (this is nice b/c if the power supply fails, you just replace it… not the entire monitor) Power supplies are readily available (I had two spare laptop/HTPC power supplies that worked fine) Nice looking and

OSD Lockout message on HP LCD [SOLVED]

If you have a newer HP LCD monitor like the HP Pavilion 23xi you may encounter the on screen display “OSD Lockout” message when trying to access the OSD (on-screen display). This message locks you out of any adjustments to brightness, contrast, color, etc. and only displays OSD Lockout: Thankfully, to disable the lockout, you only have to press the OSD button for approximately 10-12 seconds and then the normal OSD will appear! 🙂 If you are struggling with the

I would not recommend uninstalling it, since that would effectively disabled you SD card reader. Also, if

HP Folio 13 Review

Model: Folio 13-1029wm Notebook PC Pros: Very reasonable price at $498 Very nice size and weight Good looks Solid build quality Fairly good display quality Bright backlit keyboard Excellent battery life (6-7 hours) Cons: Difficult to upgrade the RAM or replace the SSD Up/down arrow keys are combined with Page up / Page down and are MUCH too small The cooling fan is on quite often and is rather noisy when you have the laptop on your lap Glossy ‘glare’

Tip: shock protection unnecessary if you have a SSD!

The Lenovo X220 ThinkPad, as well as many Dell & HP laptops, ship with a form of anti-shock protection enabled by default. This is great if your laptop has a conventional hard drive that can be easily damaged by a fall or drop. The laptop is smart enough to pause disk activity and ‘park’ the head (or other similar techniques) to prevent disk damage.
