HMT325S6BFR8C compatible with Intel NUC? [YES]

I have two Intel NUC’s that were equipped with 16GB of RAM (2x8GB DDR SODIMMs). The little PCs were originally intended for server use where the relatively vast amount of memory would have been useful. The RAM kits were also purchased when prices were rather absurdly low (around $60-$80). Unfortunately, since then RAM prices have  doubled. 🙁 These two machines never actually made it into server usage. They ended up being used around the house for a simple HTPC setup

Dual monitors on HP Pro 3500 desktop PC? [SOLVED]

Today I received the following PC question: Yo JD, Can you suggest a video card for us to order? We hired an individual at our office, and we purchased two monitors for his computer, but I don’t think the video card it came with will push two monitors. The computer is a “HP Pro” – stock off the shelf – purchased at a Office Depot type store. The existing video card is a Intel(R) HD Graphics Card. Can you suggest

Chrome ‘Downloading proxy script’ ?! [solved]

If Google’s Chrome web browser seems to take forever to load a web page, you may see a “resolving proxy” or “downloading proxy script” message appears in the lower-left corner of the browser’s window. This will open the Windows Internet Properties dialog Click LAN settings Deselect

Today I finally took the time to figure out how to fix the issue! First I tried simply checking my settings: The box was already checked to ‘Enable spell check as you type’ but I went ahead and unchecked/checked it and hit ‘OK’ just to make sure

Fix the brightness adjustment buttons on a Dell M6700 [SOLVED]

Occasionally after a few hibernate/resume cycles, my Dell Precision M6700 laptop’s brightness UP/DOWN buttons become unresponsive (specifically, the Fn+Up Arrow and Fn+Down Arrow key combination). Rebooting will fix the issue but sometimes if you are in the middle of something that can be a major inconvenience. Thankfully the same solution I posted for other Dell models also works on the M6700 🙂 Instructions for re-enabling brightness adjustment (without rebooting) #1 Go into device manager and locate your display adapter (in my case,
