Currently evaluating the x220 to replace:

  • Dell M4400
  • Dell M6500
  • Dell V131

X220 Pros:

Amazing screen

Superb keyboard

Top-of-class CPU performance (i7 2.8GHz)

FAST

Easy access to most readily changed components (RAM, HDD/SSD)

Not extremely difficult to access the mSATA port

Reliable

Expresscard and eGPU potential

Very capable dock

Both trackpoint and trackpad

Good wifi performance

Cons:

Battery slightly loose?

No backlit keyboard (but does have a “thinklight” and well defined keys, so not a deal breaker)

2012.Feb.2nd update:

The X220 continues to please. No problems have cropped up and this is very close to the perfect travel laptop. Rating 4.5/5 stars: [starreview tpl=16]
