Q. Can you please help me recover the space on one of my microsdxc cards? I installed a custom OS on one with an sd formatter and now it only shows like 1/16th of it’s full size 🙁 I have tried the SD card on my laptop, my Android phone and my tablet. They ALL show the smaller size and don’t allow me to format the full size! Would like to do the recovery on Windows if possible. Thx!!! -Sam Staffton
If you are wondering what the max SD card capacity is for the Lenovo Yoga series, I can confirm that both the Yoga 13 and the Yoga 2 Pro support 128GB SDXC cards. Woot! 🙂
In general, the Yoga 2 Pro is an excellent upgrade over the original Yoga 13. One of the few drawbacks of the Pro 2 is that Lenovo made it so normal SD cards stick out (rather than sitting flush like on the original Yoga). Thankfully, there are some shorter SD cards that meant to at least partially resolve this issue. I can confirm that Google’s Pixel running Chrome OS supports 128GB SD cards. In addition to just being cool, it also means that significant additional storage can be purchased for a reasonable price! For the past couple weeks Lightroom has been annoying me every time I insert a SD card or even plug in an external USB hard drive. Finally it bugged me enough I went to Lightroom’s settings screen: Edit->Preferences->General and did the following: No more popup!!! 🙂
Recently I was trying to recover a 32GB microsdhc card that had two partitions, one of which was inaccessible. One of the best tips I found was to try the sdfv2000.exe formatting program as it seems to be much more capable than the internal Windows formatting tools. However, I had a heck of a time finding the sdfv2000.exe program anywhere.
