I regularly stay in Springfield MO and Branson MO for business. I normally test the speeds at every hotel I stay in. Recently I stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn in Springfield MO and here are the results: ~2.0Mbps D/L* ~0.9Mbps U/L* *average of multiple tests throughout stay. Max D/L was 3Mbps, min was 1Mbps. Max U/L was always around 0.9Mbps. Overall, these are some of the worst speeds I have seen in southern Missouri. You can pay $8.95 a day for higher speeds,
Here is a photo guide to upgrading the RAM and installing an SSD on the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 2-in-1. This is a very nice laptop for the price and you can read a brief review here. For the upgrade steps, start and the bottom of the page and work your way up… 🙂 These simple upgrades take a nice basic machine and make it much more capable! 🙂
I have cloned a few hundred PC Windows/Linux drives, but today marked the first time that I cloned a Max OSX drive. On a 2011 era 21.5″ iMac I was cloning from an external Firewire boot SSD to a newly installed SSD. It was a success 🙂 Here are screenshots of the process.
I am pre-ordering a S7 Edge tonight and at first I didn’t see any info on how to get the Gear VR for free. Thankfully, a chat window popped up and the answer was soon within my grasp 🙂 Chat with AT&T AT&T: Welcome to AT&T Chat. How may we help you today? Me: Hi, do I have to add the Gear VR to my cart to get it… or is it included automatically when I buy a S7? Thx! Jenna: Thank you
Recently several tech sites ran article about using Neverware’s customized version of Chrome OS to turn old PC hardware into Chromebooks. That is of course very cool 🙂 However, would like to be able to easily test Chrome OS on modern (relatively) high-end hardware. Preferably without having to dual boot. Virtual machines to the rescue! Here is the download link for Neverware’s VM, it works with both VMware and VirtualBox: http://go.neverware.com/freeVM44 Here are screenshots I took of the installation process
Q. Yo yo hoss, can you hook me up with some info on a power supply that will let me use my Dell M6700 in the car? Gracias! A. Hola good sir! It is a bit tricky for the M6700, it uses a fairly large power supply so Dell does not even offer a car adapter that I know of 🙁 However, I did find a couple options I would recommend: #1 Traditional DC power supply that people say will run
I recently encountered an issue where my DirecTV HDMI output was unusable on my new LCD. Thankfully, the following HDMI HDCP stripper allowed me to watch on my monitor 🙂 NOTE: The best price I could find was $19.95 on Amazon with free shipping and if you need the extra HDMI cable, they have them for ~$5.49. The process is very simple: Connect power to the HDCP stripper Connect first HDMI cable from DirecTV receiver to “HDMI INPUT” on the stripper Connect second HDMI
