Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro and ThinkPad Yoga max external resolution

I am getting ready to test the max external display resolution for my ThinkPad Yoga and my wife’s Yoga 2 Pro (the new version of the Yoga 13). I will test the OneLink dock as well. 🙂

Reports indicate that 2560×1600 and 2560×1440 are possible.

    Hello,

Did you ever get anywhere with your wifes Yoga 2 Pro? I cant seem to get it to work with a dell u3014. The yoga 2 pro identies it but doesn’t seem to send a strong enough signal or something as the dell doesn’t ever activate. The dell works flawlessly from my Macbook and the Yoga 2 displays other monitors at lower res. So I am thinking there is clearly something wrong with the yoga to high res u3014 monitor. Any ideas from your testing?

    • Hi Chris,
Thank you for your comment. That would be awesome to use your nice U3014 with the Yoga 2 Pro. Unfortunately my 30″ Dell only has DVI (not HDMI) input so I haven’t been able to test yet at 2560×1600. However, later today I will verify on a different AOC monitor that the Yoga 2 Pro can at least do 2560×1080 (that’s my wife’ monitor).

I know in the past when trying to do high-res via HDMI I would sometimes have to adjust the refresh rate, at one point 24Hz was required to get a monitor to work for me. Along those lines, have you tried specifying a custom resolution/refresh-rate display setting on your Yoga 2 Pro? There are some tips at this forum thread that may be useful:

I expect that it should at least work at 2560×1600 @ 24Hz 🙂

Please keep me posted on your progress Chris!

Have you tried the answer at http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-ThinkPad-Link-Dock-4X10E52935/dp/B00H4PID8A#askInlineAnswersPage-Tx2KV79ZTVB8OLJ-1

I have a Thinkpad Yoga and I’d like to find out if I can connect a 2560×1440 monitor.

    • Hi David,
Thank you for your nice comment and great question. You should have no problem with 2560×1440 via the DisplayPort port on the onelink dock.

      Best regards,
      -J.D.

PS does your monitor have a DisplayPort port or is it only HDMI/other?
