This is just what I was looking for! After seeing all the sizes, I am going to go for the 6-cup bialleti.

    • Dear Dave,
Thank you for visiting my site. I am very glad the Bialetti size info was helpful!

I too am very fond of the 6-cup size. It is great for a husband and wife or just to brew a little extra. 🙂

Have a GREAT weekend and thank you again!

I have a “12-cup”. it takes 27 oz water to make 24 oz coffee, which is supposed to be twelve 2-ounce cups, (for me, two 12-oz cups!)
I use two scant scoops regular drip-pot grind dark-roast, tamped lightly with the 1/3-cup scoop.
On our gas stove, it’s about 12 minutes.
I always clean the funnel and top part with Dawn and a dish brush and rinse well (i don’t brush the top riser, just the visible parts).
I’ve read Bialetti makes a 14- and an 18-cup. I’m ordering the 18-cup today (Amazon says it’s direct from Bialetti, Crusinallo, Italy).

Please can you give dimensions? I need to buy a new filter for mine but don’t know if it’s a 1 or 2-cup model.

    • J.D.

Dr Paula, I do not have the exact dimensions written down from that post, unfortunately. If you are stuck between the 1-cup and 2-cup sizes, I would compare the funnel diameter and the base diameter against Bialetti’s replacement-part listings rather than guess.

my Bialetti has R 10 on the bottom. The width on the bottom, the part that goes on the stovetop measures just under 4inches. the opening at the top is 2 1/2. Our little basket, the funnel part is lost and I don’t know what size I need to replace it. Can you help witht hat? The whole things measures 6 3/4 inches tall, not including the little black button on the top. Do i have a six or nine cup, so you know?

    • J.D.

Donna, I cannot say for certain from those measurements alone, but my best guess would be a 6-cup rather than a 9-cup. I would still compare your funnel and gasket diameters against seller measurements before ordering, because a near miss there is frustrating.
