Exede data plan changes, terms
Any Classic Exede Plan or Recovery Act Plan to any Evolution Plan
Under the Evolution service plan, accessing web pages and email will generally not count toward your monthly data allowance. However, all other internet usage will count toward your monthly data allowance, including video embedded in web pages or email, streaming video or audio media and sending or receiving emails with attachments greater than 25MB.
Any Classic Exede Plan, Recovery Act Plan or an Essential 10 Plan to any Liberty Plan
Unlike your Classic Exede or Essential 10 plan, which has a strict data allowance, if you use all of the monthly Priority Data provided under your Liberty plan, you will receive Liberty Pass until the end of your monthly billing period. If your current monthly data usage exceeds the amount of monthly Priority Data that your new Liberty Plan provides, you will receive Liberty Pass until the end of your monthly billing period. Liberty Pass speeds will be slower than Priority Data speeds, do not support video streaming on multiple devices and may not support streaming of high definition video. Liberty Pass speeds will vary based on the time of day and your geographic location and may be extremely slow when the network is busy, typically in the evening hours (about 5:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. local time), which may greatly impair your ability to use the internet. Liberty Pass users will receive lower priority on the network than subscribers who have not exceeded their data allowance or other data threshold, and heavier users of Liberty Pass may experience slower speeds than lighter users.
Any Classic Exede Plan or Recovery Act Plan to a Freedom Plan
Under the Freedom service plan, if you use greater than 150 GB of data during your monthly billing period:
- Your web and email speeds may not be slower, but other types of internet use, including video streaming, will be slower until the end of your monthly billing period.
- When our network is busy, you will have lower priority on our network until the end of your monthly billing period. This may result in slower speeds when the network is busy.
- ViaSat may contact you and request that you reduce your monthly usage below 150 GB or transition to another service plan. If you do neither, ViaSat may terminate your service.
Service is for residential non-commercial use.
Any Evolution Plan to a Classic Exede Plan
The Classic Exede service plan you have chosen comes with a data allowance plan similar to minutes on a cell phone plan, except that instead of minutes, you have a specific number of gigabytes that you may use during each billing period. Unlike your Evolution plan, on the Classic Exede service plan your web and email access will count towards your data allowance. If you use more data than your service plan provides, ViaSat may significantly slow and/or restrict your service, or certain uses of your service, until the end of your monthly billing period.
Any Evolution Plan to an Essential 10 Plan
The Classic Exede service plan you have chosen comes with a data allowance plan similar to minutes on a cell phone plan, except that instead of minutes, you have a specific number of gigabytes that you may use during each billing period. Unlike your Evolution plan, on the Classic Exede service plan your web and email access will count towards your data allowance. If you use all of the monthly data that your new Essential 10 plan provides, ViaSat may significantly slow and/or restrict your service, or certain uses of your service, until the end of your monthly billing period.
Any Evolution to any other Evolution Plan
Your current monthly data usage will transfer to your new service plan.
Any Evolution Plan to any Liberty Plan
Unlike your Evolution service plan, which has a hard monthly data limit for activities other than access to web pages and email, if you use all of the monthly Priority Data provided under your Liberty plan, you will receive Liberty Pass until the end of your monthly billing period. Liberty Pass speeds will be slower than Priority Data speeds, do not support video streaming on multiple devices and may not support streaming of high definition video. If you use more data than your service plan provides, ViaSat may significantly slow and/or restrict your service, or certain uses of your service, until the end of your monthly measurement period. Your current monthly Priority Data usage under your Liberty plan will transfer to your new Essential 10 plan. If your current monthly Priority Data usage under your Liberty plan exceeds the amount of monthly data that your Essential 10 plan provides, ViaSat may significantly slow and/or restrict your service, or certain uses of your service, until the end of your monthly billing period.
