Differences between the EX and LX Honda Elements
I’ve always wondered about the differences between the “EX” and “LX” Honda Element. Today I finally took the time to look it up. The EX is the more feature packed model, but the LX has some advantages too (if you prefer steel wheels over alloy wheels).
Here’s a brief rundown*
- Audio: LX has no iPod/mp3 port, EX does
- Wheels: LX has steel rims, EX has alloy rims
- Speakers: LX has 4 speaker radio. EX has 6 + 1 speaker (the 1 being the subwoofer) and CD player that can read mp3 CDs
- Fenders: LX has Black composite fenders, EX’s are painted car color (for newer models?)
*various model years may differ, it seems that newer EX’s may now have LX features...
I am looking to buy a good used Honda Element and was having a heck of time figuring out the whole difference between EX and LX thing. Your info was very helpful and has jived with exactly what I am finding as I continue my car search. Wish me luck and hopefully I will be driving a sweet Element SOON!
Awesome Jake, I am glad this info was helpful! Google luck in your search for a killer deal on an awesome Honda Element 🙂

Hi Bert!
I am not familiar with the Y package trim kit. Perhaps another Honda Element enthusiast can help?
