2026 VMWare Workstation Pro 17 download [SOLVED]
Update (Feb 2026): The original download link below no longer works and has been removed. Since Broadcom acquired VMware, a LOT has changed. Here’s the updated info:
The Big News: VMware Workstation Pro is Now FREE
VMware Workstation Pro no longer requires a license key. It’s free for commercial, educational, and personal use. When you install it, you’ll be asked for a license key — just click Finish to skip it. The latest version is 17.6.4 (Broadcom is also introducing a new naming convention: 25H2).

Getting the installer from Broadcom’s site is a nightmare (more on that below), so here are mirrors and direct links:
VMware Workstation Pro 17.6.3 (via VMware’s CDN — still works!):

If you want to go the official route, Broadcom now hosts all VMware downloads behind their support portal. It’s free, but painful:
- Register for a free account at support.broadcom.com
- Select “VMware Cloud Foundation” as your division
- Go to My Downloads → Free Software Downloads (direct link)
- Accept the Terms and Conditions, then download
Fair warning: New accounts must pass Broadcom’s “Export Compliance” screening before downloads are enabled. This can take days to weeks. Your profile info needs to be accurate — dummy data will get flagged and delayed even further. This is why the mirror links above are so valuable.
