Amazon closes affiliate program for MO residents

Bad news today related to legislation passed here in MO. I wish that Governor Nixon had not signed this legislation. Amazon has no operations in Missouri. IMHO states have no business collecting sales tax on entities (such as Amazon) that are not headquartered in nor do they have distribution centers in, the state. This money grab by the state ends up affecting consumers with higher prices on every order (more taxes) and now it affects Amazon affiliates as well 🙁

Bluetooth Keyboard Reviews: Logitech, Amazon, Anker (for iPad and Android)

I am in the middle of evaluating three new bluetooth keyboards: Logitech Tablet Keyboard for iPad, AmazonBasics Bluetooth Keyboard, and the Anker Ultra Slim Mini Bluetooth 3.0 Wireless Keyboard. The initial review will focus on using the keyboards with an iPad. A followup review will focus on Android. Amazon post order price guarantee reduced to 7 days [DETAILS]

Traditionally Amazon has offered a 30-day post order price guarantee:  if you order an item and Amazon lowers the price within 30 days, you could contact them to receive a refund of the price difference. They then stopped honoring the guarantee around September 1st 2008 only to reinstate it again at various times, the latest being early 2013*. One thing has been fairly consistent: the 30 day time period. However, they have modified the program once again and it is now valid for

Amazon reviews: room for improvement

Amazon is a superb place to purchase goods: excellent customer service, efficient order processing, and a vast selection. Their website, however, could use a few enhancements such as an improved review system not to mention the ability to ACTUALLY sort by price (they still cannot seem to perfect this last one). Since many people have written about the price sorting issue, I thought I would discuss the current Amazon review system and how it could be improved. Amazon reviews: plenty of

Caribou Coffee Caribou Blend Special Offer

Samantha’s favorite morning coffee is Caribou Coffee Medium Roast. Coffee is not my cup of tea (literally ;-)) but I can attest that it has a wonderful smell! If you are interested in trying this coffee too, or are already a fan, Amazon is currently running a special on Caribou Coffee K-Cups where you get a free Kind Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate / Protein Bar. This are pretty tasty bars in my opinion and the kicker is that the coffee

Canceled Amazon mom, still receiving emails

Quite some time ago I signed up for Amazon mom and subsequently canceled it. Now I still receive an occasional email from them (despite my cancellation). Therefore, in an effort to clean up my inbox ;-), I sent the following message to Amazon… we shall see how they respond! TRANSCRIPT: Hello, I canceled my Amazon Mom Membership yet I continue to receive emails about it. Specifically the emails are from store-news@amazon.com and when I go to the URL listed for

Hardware toolkit for reparing laptops, phones, computers

If you work on computers a lot then you know how important it can be to have the right tool for the job. 🙂 Thankfully, most computer upgrade tasks are handled with fairly common tools, but if you happen to have a particularly difficult upgrade/repair task ahead of you it might be worth checking out a comprehensive toolkit such as this one: I have the utmost respect for iFixit as they do a phenomenal job of teardowns and takeaparts. However,
