Model GXT1000//1030/1050 Series No Transmit WI [SOLVED]

If you have a Midland GXT 1000/1030/1050 two way radio and one of the radios is not transmitting, check that WI (Whisper Mode) is not ON.

Specifically, if you see a “WI” indicator at the top of the LCD screen, I recommend turning it OFF and give that a try. 🙂

This fixed our radios so my kiddos could successfully use them 🙂

NOTE: if you do not see the “WI” indicator on either radio, then this tip will not be applicable to your situation. Sorry!

  • Hello, great advice. At one time I had to go to the service center. I have been using the MIDLAND GXT walkie-talkies for a long time when traveling to the mountains, I consider them the best choice (convenience + price / quality) for easy communication. I used to use MIDLAND GXT-400, now in addition to them I bought MIDLAND GXT-1000. Compared to the 400th, the thousandth model beats one and a half to two times longer and provides better sound. Problems with the conjugation of these radios with each other, as well as with four Kenwood TH-F5 is not found. I recommend MIDLAND GXT-1000 for a purchase, the use brought only joy, without glitches and negatives.
