Catching up to DraftKings, promo code
So just to tell you how out of the loop I am when it comes to TV and sports these days, the first time I heard about DraftKings and FanDuel… was on a news article about how they were spending upwards of $150,000,000.00 on advertising ($150 million). Other sites peg spending for the foreseeable future at closer to $250 million.
Those figures definitely piqued my interest, and thankfully a visit to my in-laws and a vacation to Yellowstone provided enough TV viewing in homes and hotels to partially figure out what was up. As best I can tell, DraftKings-which seems to be winning the war-has taken two of the most addictive things known to mankind (sports and money contests) and combined them into a fast-paced adrenaline-pumping-endorphin-releasing mashup that lets sports fans play as much fantasy as they want whenever they want to and almost however they want to.
Before this I was only familiar with the traditional season long fantasy football/basketball/baseball sports marathon where you might find yourself languishing at the bottom of the league for what seems like an eternity. Now with some of the contests DraftKings offers, you just reboot after a week and start fresh challenges.
The hype and the ads stoked my interest and helpfully each-and-every ad seemed to have a promo code attached to it. Savvy marketing idea… and definitely a nice way to give new beginners a running start with a little extra via promo code. Sadly, I remembered exactly zero of the promo codes that I saw over the past few weeks. However, I am fairly certain that Edward Norton did do the voiceover some of the DraftKings as I saw*.
*I just checked, yes he did.
This left me with a need for a promo code but the inability to remember one. Thankfully, the Google machine came to the rescue and I found my DraftKings promo code with no problem!
So, I am now off to download the app, use my hard won promo code, and check out this world of weekly fantasy sports. Wish me luck 🙂
