What is this? External token bounce back credit offer [solved]

Recently Amazon has started posting notices like this one on some of its product listing:

External token bounce back credit offer

External token bounce back credit offer See Details

“External token bounce back credit offer See Details”

What exactly is that?! Well clicking the link did not show me any special offers so I decided to try it in a different web browser. That did the trick, the offer was for:

“Take $30 Off: Upon approval for the Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card, a $30 Amazon.com gift card will be loaded instantly into your Amazon account Learn More.”

Since I already have an Amazon Rewards Visa, that description would not display for me in my default (logged in) browser. Switching to a different browser (where I was not logged in) let me see what Amazon was trying to promote. 🙂

Here is the deal that Amazon is promoting

Anyway, if you are in a similar situation and see that rather odd promotional message, hopefully this info will help you! 🙂
