Eero wishlist

Eero makes a rather splendid WiFi device, however, there is certainly room for improvement! As such, here is my wishlist for future Eero enhancements or revisions: Dual WAN failover option load balancing option PoE support Per device bandwidth usage statistics QR code or barcode scanning for setup (when bluetooth fails, manually entering a device ID is a pain) Despite the simplistic feature-set of the Eero, I do still like it. NanoStation Loco M900 default IP address (192.168.1.20)

Recently I setup a point-to-point (Layer 2, transparent bridge) using two Ubiquiti NanoStation Loco M900 wireless (900MHz) devices. For reference purposes, here is the default IP address as well as the default username/password: Ubiquiti NanoStation Loco Default Login Info: Default IP address: 192.168.1.20 Default username: ubnt Default password: ubnt Overall, the performance and link quality has been excellent. Range and resistance to interference has also been superior to most 2.4GHz/5GHz implementations. 🙂 If you have experience with NanoStations, feel free to leave a comment!

Chrome ‘Downloading proxy script’ ?! [solved]

If Google’s Chrome web browser seems to take forever to load a web page, you may see a “resolving proxy” or “downloading proxy script” message appears in the lower-left corner of the browser’s window. Thankfully, you can change your proxy setting (for Windows) and fix Chrome’s corresponding behavior: Click the Chrome menu button  on the browser toolbar Select Settings Click Show advanced settings In the “Network” section, click Change proxy settings. ZyXEL 35 default username and password

D-Link DAP-2553 default admin username password

The default login settings for the D-Link DAP-2553 wireless access point/bridge are as follows: The default user name is: admin The default password is: (blank, i.e. no password) PS we use these splendid little wireless access points in WDS mode to bridge a 1/3 mile gap between two buildings in a rural area with heavy foilage. The DAP-2553 models have PoE (power over ethernet) and they perform wonderfully for us in challenging environments 🙂
