When connecting Nexus 7 to Lenovo X220* laptop via USB: I get about 3-4MBs when writing to the Nexus 7. The files being written were large video files, smaller file transfer (like music/mp3s files) copied at about 2-3MBs… I get closer to 7-8MBs when copying from the Nexus 7 to the laptop. NOTE: The X220 was running Windows 7 in these tests.
The PlayBook tablet has some nice features built in: screenshot capability originally missing in Android, but in iOS for a long time Wifi file sharing (using SAMBA, i.e. the default file sharing protocol that Windows uses ) this can be accomplished on Android with 3rd parties apps and be fairly tightly integrated into the OS. on iOS, some apps utilize SAMBA but the locked down nature of the iOS file system makes it much less useful that BlackBerry’s straight-up file
