About
Hello and thanks for visiting my personal website!
This page is meant to tell you a bit about me. I’ve organized it into the following sections:
These are a few of my favorite things…
I travel a lot with my wonderful wife Samantha. When we’re not traveling or visiting friends, we stay busy with work and projects. Samantha’s primary work is photography but thankfully she keeps a flexible schedule so there is plenty of time for adventuring.
My work is primarily internet based so I can work wherever I am, whether I’m near home or in another country. This is both a blessing (extreme flexibility) and a curse (never really away from work). Thankfully I truly enjoy most of my work. I also strive to maintain a healthy balance between work and the rest of life.
PS You can check out a few of our wedding photos here.
Education
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in CIS at Drury University in Springfield, MO. After college I attended law school at the University of Tulsa and graduated with a Juris Doctor (law school degree). After graduating from law school I passed the Missouri bar and am now an attorney in Missouri.
I thoroughly enjoyed college and I also enjoyed the people at law school (if not the entire educational experience itself). I am a firm believer that “higher education” does not necessarily engender any great virtue and that formal education is not the be-all-end-all of knowledge.
I strive to do as Mark Twain advised, “don’t let school interfere with your education”.
Businesses:
Here are some of my favorite projects:
- NetRender – nature images for architects and 3d rendering (for use in video games, advertising, etc.)
- Weblogs.us – blog hosting service.
A few more misc items:
- Born in Oklahoma and still have awesome family there.
- Age and marital status… I am 28 years old and married to a wonderful woman.
- Work perks. My work often takes me to exotic locales.
- My wife is an avid, and exceptional, weaver.
- 3/4th MO, the rest somewhere on earth. Currently we are in Missouri for about three fourths of the year, with the remainder spent in various portions of the USA and abroad.
- We live off the grid. Our home uses solar energy for electricity, we are totally off the grid. Our internet is via satellite. We heat our house primarily with a wood stove.
- It’s always difficult for me to write an “about” page, but hopefully this will at least give you an inkling of who I am and what I do.
