Freedom of the Seas, enable HDMI input?

We recently cruised on the Freedom of the Seas ship, and all the TVs in the state rooms were Samsung TVs with the inputs disabled. Here are some resources for enabling the HDMI input for movies and games: http://www.justanswer.com/tv-repair/1ru9u-turn-off-hotel-mode-samsung-ln32a450cih-tv.html http://www.justanswer.com/tv-repair/4gvxx-need-direction-unlocking-samsung-tv-ln-r238wx.html http://www.manualowl.com/m/Samsung/LN-R238WH/Manual/137686 http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18363835 It would be nice if Royal Caribbean avoided hospitality mode/hotel mode on their LCD TVs, but alas they do not 🙁

The new Springfield terminal is pretty nice, power (AC and USB) outlets under a number of seats and the wifi

Back home, hurrah!

Ohh, it is so nice to be back home :-). We were just gone for 4 days but it seems like a week and a half. The trip was a lot of fun, but I am just glad to be back home! Here is a photo from the hundreds we took for Kevin and Shannon’s engagement photoshoot: that particular photo is by Samantha, it was one of my absolute favorites from the day. Ask J.D. – Nikon D5000 or Canon 500D?

One of my favorite professors, Muthu, is taking an extensive trip this summer and he has been looking for a new DSLR to take with him. There is a related post discussing Canon 500D vs. Panasonic GH1, but the GH1 doesn’t look like it will be released in time for his trip. So today Muthu emailed me the following question: J.D. Need your opinion. Nikon and Canon have released their DSLR with video capabilities. Any suggestions or recommendations? The pricing
