Building a random name generator

Last night I had fun building a  little random name generator for my friend Adam and my wife. They both write and sometimes it is difficult to come up with names for characters, that is where the new tool comes in handy: Character Name Generator Every time you refresh the page you get a new name 🙂 I used to code a lot of fun little projects like this but lately I have not made time for it. I do

Make your kid’s Superheros Super-Magnetic! [KidCraft, DIY]

NOTE: this entry marks a new category on my blog called “KidCraft” it will contain fun projects to benefit kids. This particular project is meant for parents to enhance their kid’s toys, but future projects will be for kids to do themselves… Step-by-step photos can be found at the end of the entry Superhero Madness! However, I decided to title it “Kayak week and staying busy” and leave the permalink (URL) with the mashed potatoes bit… 2016 update, title changed

Busy and Thankful

Things have been busy around here! Projects left and right, with a trip (thanks Jesse ;-)) coming up to top things off. But it’s a good busy and good projects too. These are worthwhile things that pay dividends in the long run. Despite the busyness, we are making sure to take time out for the little things that mean a lot to us.  This is a very special time for us as we consider the future and treasure the present.

Projects this weekend

This was a wonderful weekend at home. I worked on some fun projects and did some “business” work. Samantha played with some new toys (stroller, etc.) and cooked some delicious delights. Also, before the weekend got here, we had a lot of fun going out to eat with my mom and dad to celebrate my dad’s birthday! Even before that, we had a great Valentine’s day (which I still need to post an entry about…) But now back to the
