Building my new gaming PC

I built this bad boy gaming PC to play Battlefront with my friend Kevin. It has a i5-2500K CPU and a GTX 960 video card, 512GB SSD and 16GB of RAM. This was a photo taken in the garage while I was building the PC. It was using a super old temporary power supply without the video card being fully powered. Since then I have upgraded to a much nicer PSU. The cooler is recycled as is as many components

Dual monitors on HP Pro 3500 desktop PC? [SOLVED]

Today I received the following PC question: Yo JD, Can you suggest a video card for us to order? We hired an individual at our office, and we purchased two monitors for his computer, but I don’t think the video card it came with will push two monitors. The computer is a “HP Pro” – stock off the shelf – purchased at a Office Depot type store. The existing video card is a Intel(R) HD Graphics Card. Can you suggest

Antique secretary laptop desk and cool retro PC mod!

I routinely use my laptop setup in my grandma’s vintage secretary. It is a gorgeous piece of furniture. Every time I sit down at it I think fondly of her. The secretary is very functional with its fold out desktop surface. I would eventually like to build (or have built) a slightly larger version that could accommodate a full PC but keep the old-school antique look. 🙂 Curious about what exactly a secretary desk is?! Recently I came across a pretty darn cool case mod with auto opening top air vents! Favorite homebrew computers: 1997-2010

Some people enjoy building hot rods, or building model airplanes. I enjoy building computers. The first PC I built was in 1997, I was a sophomore in HS. I can still remember researching all the parts, using a computer in the HS science classroom (I didn’t have internet at home at that time).
