Inexpensive antique lighting for Timber Frame homes

Lighting a timber frame home can be a challenge. Thankfully, after some experimentation, we found a solution that worked for us. We settled on a simple and inexpensive method: +Paint EMT conduit to match fixtures +Use existing colored fixtures +Use “Edison” style LED bulbs The overall cost is very low and we have been happy with the results. Garage electrical outlet locations

I have been wiring my new garage and here is what I settled on for the outlet heights: Lower outlets at 18″ to the top of the box. Upper outlets are at 4 feet to the top of the box. Construction update, bathtub update

Our house continues to take shape 🙂 After getting the roof on a week ago, not much has happened since. However, having everything dry and protected is VERY nice! We have had some snow and heavy frosts as well. Today we picked up Samantha’s 68″ cast iron tub from the freight dock in Springfield. We have out finalized window list for the house. They are Andersen 200 series windows. They are wood with vinyl clad exteriors and the majority of them are double hung. Aug 28: Working on the walkout/porch concrete forms, gravel delivery, ThermoPEX

So far today has been a rather quiet day on the construction front 🙂 On the back walkout area, the framer is finishing up the forms/rebar/gravel for the concrete footings and slab. There are also pier locations for the posts that will support the back porch. Two loads of 1″ gravel delivered by Scott today for bedding in the ThermoPEX, PEX, conduit and ethernet (they’re all run in the same 2′ ditch) Martin Plumbing is coming out later today to
