Recently I upgraded three different Dell laptops to Windows 10. The first was a Dell Inspiron 11 2-in-1, the 2nd was a Dell Latitude E5450, and the 3rd was a Dell XPS 13 (2015 Infinity Display). Description of the brightness control problem If you have a recent Dell laptop and are doing a clean install of Windows 8.1 (and possibly Windows 10), you may encounter an issue where the brightness controls (F11/F12 down/up) do not function properly. Q. My Dell Inspiron 1520 screen brightness adjustment sometimes get stuck after I suspend/resume a few times. I am doing some research on a display dimming problem on my Dell Latitude E6430. Specifically, when using the laptop in a dim/dark environment, the display brightness sometimes varies with a sort of brightness-fluctuation. It can be quite annoying as it is almost like flickering.
