Upload your prescription to 1-800-CONTACTS

Recently I ordered a couple boxes of daily wear contact lenses from 1-800-CONTACTS. So far the process has not been very smooth: Problem 1 – all the “order codes” or “coupon codes” I tried, even the codes listed on their own site, failed to work on my order 🙁 Problem 2 – despite updating my doctor information and submitting a copy of my prescription online, they still had trouble processing my prescription 🙁 To help expedite the order I planned on re-uploading

Surface Pro 3 dual monitor dock, w/Gigabit Ethernet

Accell just released a cool new dock intended for the Surface Pro 2 and Surface Pro 3. However, the dock should work equally well with any laptop/tablet that has a Mini DisplayPort 1.2 MST capable port and USB 3.0 port. The DisplayPort portion of the dock uses MST to act as a hub for connecting (2) DisplayPort monitors, while the USB 3.0 port handles Gigabit Ethernet and USB 3.0 hub duties. Overall you get a pretty nice docking solution compared to the other

Amazon reviews: room for improvement

Amazon is a superb place to purchase goods: excellent customer service, efficient order processing, and a vast selection. Their website, however, could use a few enhancements such as an improved review system not to mention the ability to ACTUALLY sort by price (they still cannot seem to perfect this last one). Since many people have written about the price sorting issue, I thought I would discuss the current Amazon review system and how it could be improved. Amazon reviews: plenty of

Target’s No-Receipt Return Policy Limit

Question from Kasey: Hiya. Recently tried to return some items to Target without a receipt and they said I exceeded my return limit? What does that mean? Answer from JD: I asked the return desk at our local Target and they said that without a receipt  Target has a 12 month $70 return policy limit. So, without receipts you can only return $70 worth of stuff  during a 12 month time period 🙁 They enforce this limit by checking your drivers

Blind review: can a $7.99 mouse cut it as a gaming mouse?

Here’s the deal with this entry: I wondered how the Kensington ‘Mouse-in-a-box’, available for around $7.99 [Amazon], would hold up under serious gaming and productivity scenarios. Who better to test it than Neil from kohlercreated. He does extreme gaming and he also works super hard, a somewhat rare combo ;-). So I had the mouse shipped to him without the price and I asked him to use it and send me his impressions, but to NOT look up any info

Wow, FileSonic stops file sharing! MegaUpload arrests to blame

Wow, FileSonic just disabled their file sharing features! I guess this should not come as a surprise after the MegaUpload arrests. But wow, this really makes FileSonic almost useless. Now they only do online storage. Unfortunately, they pale in comparisonto the bigger and more feature rich competitors like DropBox, Amazon cloud services, etc. they My understanding is that you cannot even use FileSonic for basic file/document sharing between colleagues now (i.e. I upload a spreadsheet and product images, Bob cannot access those files
