Prevent accidental clicks on Dell touch-pad [SOLVED]

Question: Just purchased a new Dell E7450 on eBay and so far I luv it… but one problem persists and I hate it. When I type I am frequently messed up mid sentence because the trackpad gets accidentally clicked or the mouse pointer moves. It’s almost like it is clicking by itself. This is super annoying and even worse because I like the pointing stick better anyway. Can you give me any tips?

Answer: Hi Andrea! I think I can help 🙂 You have two good options:

  1. Enable “TouchGuard” to prevent accidental clicks/touches
    -or-
  2. Disable the touchpad completely

 

Both of these options can be accomplished by going to your taskbar and right clicking the Dell Touchpad icon in the notification area, click Touchpad Properties, then adjust the sensitivity settings.
